The mission of the Gay Project as per the Constitution is to ensure that gay, bisexual, men who have sex with men (MSM), trans and queer men are enabled to participate fully in Ireland’s social, economic, cultural, political and artistic life.
The aims and objectives of Gay Project are:
To provide information and support to gay men, bisexual men, men who have sex with men (MSM), trans and queer men and their families.
To promote the mental, sexual, physical and emotional health of gay men, bisexual men, men who have sex with men (MSM), trans and queer men.
To support, enable and enhance the development of the LGBTI+ community.
To raise awareness in wider society of the issues that disproportionately affect the LGBTI+ community.
To inform and contribute to relevant policy-making and advance LGBTI+ civil rights at a local, national and international level.
To raise awareness amongst others in the wider Irish society of the issues that disproportionately affect gay men, bisexual men, men who have sex with men (MSM), queer and trans men.
Cork Equal and Sustainable Communities Alliance
We work with 17 other community and voluntary groups and the HSE to address disadvantage and enhance social inclusion.
The Cork LGBTI+ Interagency Group brings together a range of state and community partners to raise awareness and to enhance LGBT Inclusion at a local level.
As a network member of LGBT Ireland we work collectively with other LGBT community organisations to support, provide services and advocate for LGBT people in Ireland.
Through our membership and involvement with the Gay Health Network we help inform and shape the national sexual health response for men who have sex with men.
We represent the LGBT Community on the Cork City Drugs and Alcohol Taskforce. We work with a range of other community and statutory representatives to address local substance abuse issues across the city.
