Frontrunners Cork LGBT+ Running Club

Frontrunners Cork is an LGBT+ running club. The club is an initiative of the Gay Project designed to remove barriers to physical activity for the community.

The club is social and non-competitive in nature – from time to time the club enters races for fun. It is comprised of runners with mixed levels of experience ranging from total beginners to more experienced.

New members with experience are accepted throughout the year. First-time runners are welcomed to join our Couch to 5K programs.

UP Cork LGBT+ Youth Group

UP Cork is an LGBT+ Youth Group is organised in partnership with Youth Work Ireland Cork. The group welcomes members aged 15 – 24. The vision is to provide a holistic, inclusive & empowering service to LGBT+ young people. The mission is to provide a community-based response to LGBT+ young people by offering them opportunities for active participation & inclusion in addressing issues that affect their lives through personal & social development.

Queer Vibes Coffee Social Group

Queer Vibes is an LGBT+ Social Group which meets on a weekly basis. This is a friendly group who are always up for a laugh and very welcoming to new people.

Whether you’re a local, a blow-in or totally new to the city, this group provides an opportunity to meet some new people, make some friends and have a chat.

Gay Information Cork

Gay Information Cork is a weekly source of information and support. It is part of the national LGBT helpline. The trained volunteers provide a non-judgemental, confidential, listening support and information service for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people as well as their family and friends. LGBT.ie also provides a gateway to information and support options for LGBT people in Ireland. It has information that will be useful for people questioning if they might be lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.

Community Centre Open Hours

The Community Centre is open every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to provide information and resources to anyone who wishes to learn more about what we do. We regularly have meetings with teachers, parents, therapists, service-users and others who come to have a chat and take away some of our resources which include information leaflets, sexual health guides, Gay Community News, condoms, books and DVDs.

We provide free community based rapid HIV testing once a month in partnership with the Sexual Health Centre as part of the KnowNow program.

GOLD

GOLD coffee morning in the Gay Project is an opportunity for older gay men to meet, socialise and chat with other guys of a similar age. The event is facilitated by staff and volunteers in a comfortable space which includes a gay book and DVD library. Other resources include free copies of Gay Community News, condoms and more.
